The Houston SPCA receives stray animals through our injured animal rescue ambulance and accepts them from the public by appointment only. View the stray animals at the Houston SPCA
Identification of your lost pet cannot be made over the Internet. You must visit the shelter at 900 Portway Drive, Houston, TX 77024. Please bring proof of ownership (veterinary records, photos, microchip information, etc.).
Check the other area shelters that accept lost pets, especially the tax-funded, municipal animal control facilities, at least every other day. Many of the other cities in our region have individual animal control facilities. This is not a complete list.
We also encourage you to register with and utilize PiP My Pet and Finding Rover to help you in the search for your lost pet. Both free apps use facial recognition technology to help reunite lost pets with their families.
Intervening on behalf of nearly 50,000 animals in need each year is an expensive endeavor, and your generous donation today will help further our mission. Donating to the Houston SPCA is an investment in your community because your entire donation is used locally to benefit the animals of our area.
