The Houston SPCA is a private, nonprofit charity founded in 1924. We are Houston’s first and largest animal protection organization and shelter, serving two times the number of animals with a wider scope of services than any other animal care organization in the Gulf Coast area. We are committed to all animals and intervene on behalf of more than 50,000 animals each year, including cats and dogs, small mammals, horses and farm animals, and native wildlife. The Houston SPCA is the only animal protection organization in the United States with the ability to care for all species on one united campus.
The mission of the Houston SPCA is to promote commitment to and respect for all animals and free them from suffering, abuse and exploitation.
We receive no funding from the government, United Way or other animal organizations like the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Donate to the Houston SPCA and support our lifesaving work. There are many ways to give!
Intervening on behalf of nearly 50,000 animals in need each year is an expensive endeavor, and your generous donation today will help further our mission. Donating to the Houston SPCA is an investment in your community because your entire donation is used locally to benefit the animals of our area.
