A proud history, a dynamic future
Since 1924, the Houston SPCA has served this community as animal advocates of the most serious kind. Today, in addition to finding homes for tens of thousands of animals each year, we’re proud of our many one-of-a-kind offerings, from our 24-hour injured animal rescue ambulance to our exclusive partnership with the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
The Houston SPCA has nine full-time animal cruelty investigators responding to over 7,000 reports of cruelty, abuse and neglect each year. We also have the region’s only 24-hour injured animal rescue ambulance.
We accept admissions to the Houston SPCA by appointment only, offered seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please call 713-869-7722.
The Houston SPCA receives stray animals through our injured animal rescue ambulance and the public. We do not provide government-mandated animal control services.
We are open for adoptions seven days a week with convenient evening and weekend hours. Visit us Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Houston SPCA is the lead nonprofit agency for animal-related disaster rescue, relief and resources in the region.
Programs for kids
