Vice President of Operations
The Houston SPCA is seeking a Vice President of Operations to provide leadership, direction and oversight on all aspects of animal care operations and facilities for the shelter. Operations departments include Animal Care, Client Care, Behavior, Surgery, Clinic, Field Services, and Mobile Adoptions, as well as Facilities Management and Disaster Management.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; Minimum 5 years experience in a supervisory role within an animal sheltering environment. Computer skills, phone skills, organizational skills and time management a must. Full time, able to work around/with all types of animals (domestic, exotic, farm). Director of Development
Responsible for leadership in the areas of Special Events, Planned Giving and Grant Funding, organization-wide fundraising, and all incoming donation support. Requires excellent communication and leadership skills, great organizational skills, and a good understanding of legal and financial issues related to non profit fundraising and planned giving.
Bachelors degree in related field required plus at least four years of professional development/fundraising experience (preferably with non-profit). Resumes can be e-mailed to SPCA Jobs
Cruelty Investigator (ONLY QUALIFIED APPLICANTS APPLY PLEASE) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous training and work experience in cruelty investigations or animal control. Will accept previous training and work experience in law enforcement and/or criminal justice only if combined with previous animal related work experience. Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited protocol exists; strong mathematical ability. Requires working flexible hours including weekends and nights. Valid Texas drivers license required. Job responsibilities include: Investigate potential violations of animal cruelty laws; issue written warnings; write detailed daily reports and prepare records; appear in court to submit documents, evidence and case summaries; respond to injured animal reports in rescue vehicle; transport/rescue large and small animals (domestic and wildlife). Animal Rescue Technician Join a dedicated team of professionals who assist the community by responding to calls regarding injured and distressed animals. The Houston SPCA is the only agency in our area providing an injured animal rescue service 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Must have a good driving record, be able to work varied shift schedules (weekends, nights and holidays included) and be prepared to work as part of a team where other duties may be assigned. $12/hour.
