Victory for the Conroe 200!
On July 30th District Judge Michael Seiler awarded the Houston SPCA permanent custody of the 207 horses that were rescued June 25 from unthinkable conditions at the Calico Dairy on League Line Road in Conroe, TX. Houston SPCA President, Patricia Mercer said, “We are pleased that the judge has reached the same decision in the appeal that was reached in the civil hearing on June 30 when Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Wayne Mack found the horses had been cruelly treated. We are thrilled to be able to continue our tireless rehabilitation efforts. We will nurse them back to health, physically and mentally. And, we will find them new families, where they will be loved." But, their road to recovery will be long and we need your help. The cost of caring for the Conroe 200 has surpassed $400,000.00 and continues to grow each day. You can help by donating online to The Cinderella Fund which helps the Houston SPCA rescue, rehabilitate and rehome over 10,000 animals each year.
