Environmental Education

The Wildlife Center of Texas offers a wide variety of experiences and presentations to enhance and promote awareness of and respect for our wild heritage. The presentations can accommodate school-age children K-12, scout groups, businesses, corporate events, and community programs, etc. Programs for preschoolers are not offered at this time. To schedule a presentation, send an email to presentations@wildlifecenteroftexas.org.

On-site presentations at the The Wildlife Center of Texas are encouraged. Trained speakers and Educational Wildlife Ambassadors (Peregrine falcon, Red-tailed hawk, Harris's hawk, Great horned owl, Screech owl, Crested caracara, and Virginia opossum) are available at The Wildlife Center of Texas to provide educational programs. Attendees to on-site presentations will learn about:

  • The wildlife ambassadors, including their habits and adaptations
  • Important aspects of peaceful coexistence and human-wildlife conflict resolution
  • Using the "Peaceful Coexistence House" to demonstrate exclusion methods
  • Emphasizing the importance of responsible stewardship of local wildlife

Off-site Presentations

The Wildlife Center of Texas provides trained speakers to address civic groups, businesses, schools and other organizations interested in native wildlife and environmental education. One or two of the wildlife ambassadors will accompany the speakers. The Wildlife Center of Texas programs focus on:

  • Emphasizing the importance of responsible stewardship of local wildlife
  • Important aspects of peaceful coexistence and human-wildlife conflict resolution
  • The public's role in wildlife rehabilitation
  • The accompanying wildlife ambassadors, including their habits and adaptations

For off-site presentations, the fees are: $250 for a 1 hour program (or two 30 min. programs.).
