(HOUSTON) March 4, 2021 – The Houston Police Department and Houston SPCA provided 1,000 dog and cat meals for the South Houston community earlier today at 2206 Emancipation Ave. Houston, TX 77003 near Third Ward. Pet owners were able to stay in their cars and drive through while volunteers from HPD and Houston SPCA placed bags of pet food into their cars. In addition, both teams also delivered pet food to homebound seniors in the area.Watch video!
The pet food was provided by Hill’s Pet Nutrition as well as community donations to help pet owners provide essential nutrition for their canines and felines. The winter freeze left many Houstonians in dire need of supplies, including pet food. The joint distribution through HPD and Houston SPCA was in response to that critical need.
Want to Help? Please drop off dog or cat food anytime under the Houston SPCA’s big blue tent located at 7007 Old Katy Road, Houston, 77024. Those donations will be distributed by our community partners including HPD, BakerRipley, and Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM).
