While the warmer Houston weather means that we care for orphaned baby animals all year round, Spring brings an influx of babies into our care - all at once! This incredible surge calls for our special Bottle Baby Nursery, where these tiny, abandoned baby animals are provided with delicate 24-hour care and gently fed every two hours, around-the-clock, by staff and volunteers. We simply cannot have this lifesaving program without your help! Click below to visit our Wishlist OR Donate!
A bottle baby is a newborn puppy or kitten who is still nursing.
If you come across orphaned babies, first make sure they are truly orphans! If they have been left alone for more than a couple of hours, you can either bring them to our Admissions department during business hours and surrender them free of charge or call our 24-hour rescue ambulance at 713-880-HELP (4357).
With special training, you can be part of our team! If you have a couple hours to give, it is all hands on deck everyday for several months and our staff sure does appreciate the help with daily feeding and cleaning. Learn more about becoming a volunteer here.
A home enviroment is always best for any animal. By fostering our nursery babies, you can give them the best possible start to life. The Houston SPCA provides our fosters with all necessary supplies, and when they are old enough for adoption, you can bring them back to us and we will find them a home. Intervening on behalf of nearly 50,000 animals in need each year is an expensive endeavor, and your generous donation today will help further our mission. Donating to the Houston SPCA is an investment in your community because your entire donation is used locally to benefit the animals of our area.
