Animal Care

•    Maintains the adoption counseling area and lobby.

Veterinary Assistant (Texas, Houston)

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Processes intakes and advises customers about the adoptability of animals being admitted.

Responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Care Specialist Team at the Houston SPCA, to include: oversight of adoption programs, admissions, companion animal husbandry, & client assistance.

Digital Marketing and Database Coordinator (Texas, Houston)

Primary Purpose:

The Digital Marketing and Database Coordinator will play a key role in supporting vital aspects of the Development and Marketing Team?by managing all aspects of Houston SPCA digital fundraising CRM tool.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Responsible for management of online CRM tool (EveryAction)
  • Coordinate directly with the agency of record (Pursuant) to build trackable campaign pages, report success, and ensure deliverability.
  • Understand all aspects of EveryAction database function and can build simple and complex queries for marketing efforts.
  • Ability to perform primary database functions like bulk list uploads, deduping, updating donor records, creating tracking codes, and other duties.
  • Work in conjunction with the database manager to ensure all data in EveryAction is prepared for weekly synchronization with the donor database of record which is Raiser?s Edge.
  • Proactively seek to utilize tools within EveryAction to enhance fundraising and communications efforts on behalf of Houston SPCA
  • Coordinate with departments outside of Development/Marketing to ensure reporting is accurate for areas not related to fundraising.
  • Build out functionality as needed, including event ticketing, peer to peer fundraising efforts and storytelling.
  • Reviews and analyze SEO analytics provided from Senior Director of Direct Marketing
  • Creates a filing system for all analytical reports as well as digital assets like a photo library

Accounting Assistant (Texas, Houston)

This position is responsible for managing the Accounts Payable function of the Houston SPCA, while having Account Reconciliation responsibility for key accounts reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Functions of the Position:

Our hospital is equipped with modern diagnostic equipment for triaging injured animals from the eight counties that make up the Greater Houston area. Our compensation package is extremely competitive; ranging from $115,000 - 130,000 per year. Veterinary Nurse (Texas, Houston)

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Works under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian or contractor employed by the Houston SPCA.
  • Assist Veterinary Services Coordinator(s) and/or Veterinary Services management in ensuring routine examinations and treatments of animals in the care of the Houston SPCA are properly performed as required.

Knowledge, skill and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of this position:

Animal Rescue Technician (Texas, Houston)

The Houston SPCA is currently seeking an Animal Rescue Technician to join our dedicated animal rescue team. Want to join a dedicated team of professionals who assist the community by responding to calls regarding injured and distressed animals? The Houston SPCA is the only agency in our area providing an injured animal rescue service 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Respond to service calls to assist injured animals or animals in distress within the service area of the Houston SPCA.
  • Prioritize calls and make judgment calls for responding to animals needing assistance based on Houston SPCA protocols and directives issued by the Houston SPCA Command Staff.
