Human Resources Generalist (Texas, Houston)

  • Manage cyclical projects including, but not limited to annual performance appraisal process, birthday lists, turnover reports, monthly staff meeting and OSHA reporting.

Animal Rescue Technician (Texas, Houston)

The Houston SPCA is currently seeking an Animal Rescue Technician to join our dedicated animal rescue team. Want to join a dedicated team of professionals who assist the community by responding to calls regarding injured and distressed animals? The Houston SPCA is the only agency in our area providing an injured animal rescue service 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Respond to service calls to assist injured animals or animals in distress within the service area of the Houston SPCA.
  • Prioritize calls and make judgment calls for responding to animals needing assistance based on Houston SPCA protocols and directives issued by the Houston SPCA Command Staff.

Summer Critter Camp Teacher (Texas, Houston)

Hourly Summer Position

The Houston SPCA is currently seeking Camp Counselors/Teachers for our Summer Critter Camp program for students entering 3rd through 8th grade.? The week-long day camps will be held from June 7 ? August 13; Monday through Friday, 9?a.m. to 3 p.m. daily in the Carruth Education Center, located at 7007 Old Katy Road, Houston, TX 77024.? Positions are available to qualified Teachers who can commit to at least 3 weeks of camp and preference will be given to those who can accept additional sessions.?

Each session will have a Camp Manager, 3 Teachers, 3-6 Volunteer Counselors (Critter Crew) and up to 65 students maximum.? Each Teacher and assigned Volunteers will be responsible for a group of up to 20 campers from morning arrival to end of day, including lunch supervision and visits with the adoptable animals.? Teachers will each present 1 - 2 lessons per week as well as lead 1 - 2 activities.? They will also be required to take on duties that relate to planning, organizing and maintaining an appropriate environment for each camp.? Workday hours will be from 8 a.m. ? 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Pay rate: $15.00 per hour?

Our hospital is equipped with modern diagnostic equipment for triaging injured animals from the eight counties that make up the Greater Houston area. Finally, the veterinarians at the Houston SPCA play a vital role in our ongoing mission to eliminate animal cruelty. They ensure that animals are cared for medically and rehabilitated, and their expert witness testimony can bring justice for the innocent victims of animal cruelty, abuse and neglect.

Our compensation package is extremely competitive; ranging from $115,000 - 130,000 per year. Knowledge, skill and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Maintain Continuing Education requirements of credentialing
