The Houston SPCA and Office of Constable Alan Rosen, Harris County Constable Precinct 1 were able to distribute free pet food to families in need today near Acres Homes at 1265 Pinemont Street in Houston. Thanks to a donation made by Hill’s Pet Nutrition Disaster Relief Network, more than 1300 pets have enough food for two weeks. The rescue and protection organization believes that no one should have to decide between feeding themselves and feeding their pet.
Scores of pet owners stayed in their cars and drove through while volunteers from Precinct 1 and Houston SPCA placed bags of pet food into vehicles.
The year-long pandemic continues to impact many residents, including those with pets who find themselves in dire need of pet food. The joint distribution is in response to this critical need in our community.
