Uncovered Third Floor Balcony Registered 106 Degrees

HOUSTON (April 12, 2021) – The Houston SPCA rescued a small dog after he became wedged in a metal fence and was hanging over the third-floor balcony late Sunday afternoon in East Houston near Griggs Road. It was reported that the Lhasa Apso was also in heat distress. Officials with the Houston SPCA said the uncovered outdoor patio registered 106 degrees as the dog was being rescued. See the dramatic video. “Even though spring temperatures may seem mild to humans, leaving a pet outside in the direct sun can still have devastating consequences,” said Adam Reynolds, Chief Animal Cruelty Investigator. “If you plan on leaving your home, please bring your pet inside to ensure their safety,” Reynolds added. The dog is now at the Houston SPCA where he will be available for adoption soon.
