K-9s Trained in Explosives and Narcotic Detection Show Off Their Skills at Houston SPCA Critter Camp

HOUSTON (June 16, 2021) – Four Harris County Constable Precinct 1 K-9s and their certified handlers stopped by the Houston SPCA’s Critter Camp today to show off their skills, including Violet, a golden retriever who is highly trained to sniff out explosives. The fifth and sixth-grade Campers got the unique opportunity to have a meet and greet with the K-9s (Violet, Elmo, Edge and Back) who help keep our community safe. The team members conducted some mock search drills around the camp room before each K-9 received a reward: their favorite toy. The Campers enjoyed asking the handlers questions and a chance to pet the K-9s.
