Is there availability for one-time volunteering? Unfortunately, because of the amount of training required to work with our animals, we do not offer one-time training opportunities for individuals.
Can my 15-year-old volunteer at the Wildlife Center if I’m with him/her? We do not offer any volunteer opportunities for those under the age of 16.
If I am a high school or college student and cannot come when school is in session, can I volunteer only during the summer? Yes! Many of our volunteers are students. However, the usual six hour commitment during a six month period will have to be completed during your summer break.
Can I be a volunteer if I have a criminal record? We do not accept applicants with a history of sexual offense, violent crime, theft or animal neglect/cruelty. We require all volunteer applicants to state any past criminal record and reserve the right to conduct a background check on any volunteer.
Do you offer court-appointed community service? We do not at this time.
I prefer to fill out a paper application. Can I come down to the shelter to do so? No, we do not offer paper applications. All of our applications are to be completed online.
If I do not currently have a credit/debit card, can I pay the application fee in person with another payment method? No, our payment portal is linked to our application process and must be completed online using a debit/credit card.
